Ok…back to our originally scheduled programming
Sorry folks. Rob is wasted on Ambien. I have wrestled control of the computer away from him. He may require a horse tranquilizer to get to sleep.
The lowdown is that Rob has the dreaded tumor progression. After a lovely dormant period, that bastard Tawd is back.
We were told two likely scenarios today at the visit with the oncologist:
We continue with treatment (Avastin) and Rob begins to feel better and the tumor retreats.
We continue with treatment and Rob continues to decline, the tumor continues to grow and we arrange hospice care and we keep Rob as happy and comfortable as possible.
This will all play out over the next month or so. It will be obvious even without another MRI which scenario is going down.
After all this time, these are really the only options available to us. Other available drugs that Rob could try have a roughly 5% chance of making an improvement, but a huge chance of really unpleasant side effects which will dramatically diminish his quality of life.
We continue to laugh and we continue to love one another and we appreciate all your support.
Love,
Kasey

That Tawd is a persistent little devil, isn’t he? I am beaming out sonic energy waves to you all to kill this nuisance. Keep positive, though I can understand it’s hard after your doctor visit today. Although we’re not there right beside you, believe me, we’re feeling the punch too and are viciously punching back. In my nursing experience, Ambien has been known to sometimes have strange side effects…not to be taken long term. Hope something works…melatonin..trazadone…seroquil…good ol’ uncle Beny (Benedryl)…Tim O’Brien…. Thinking of you all…thanks for the post and please keep in touch. You are all a wonderful family and we’re thinking of you and hoping Tawd becomes history once again.
love,
Kim

Kasey, thank you for your message. Please call me whenever you are able, 802.380.1465. I would very much like to come see Rob and personally have a one-on-one confrontation with Tawd. That little “bastard” needs to know just how much he is unwelcome and unwanted right now. Love to you all…but not Tawd!

Bromee family,
The Thompson family has really missed the
Bond that was formed as Tawd had made
It’s first appearance. We are really hoping
And praying that Rob improves and gets
To enjoy more wonderful times with the rest
Of the family.
Wishing you all the best.

Kasey and Rob, Thanks for the update. Today-March 19- is the feast day of St. Joseph, the father of Jesus. He also is the patron saint of Fathers and husbands. Just as he took care of Jesus and Mary, I know Rob is taking care of his family.hold a special place in God’s heart and in the hearts of all who know you. We pray to St. Joseph to give your family the graces and peace to get you through this illness and keep your lives together happy and fulfilling.
Rob, Remember, your cousins in Wilm. DE are always praying for you and wishing you well. God bless Kasey, Rob, Sadie, and Cooper.
Love Always, Marcia and Tony, and kids.

Rob and Kasey,
I’ve been too long out of touch, now back in the thread to send you all love and
healing energy. I admire you all for keeping connected with life through all of
this. I know, what else can we do?, but I remember when I saw Rob the last time
before you moved to Maine. His words and his way were embracing the situation,
going through it all open-eyed, which was and is an inspiration to me, and also
hopefully to anyone who lets whatever life brings get them down. Thanks, Rob,
for showing me something fundamental. Again, I send you all my love and best
wishes, and hope to hear good news as the path unfolds.
Love,
Chris

Hiya, I’m really glad I’ve found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossips and web and this is actually frustrating. A good blog with interesting content, this is what I need. Thank you for keeping this website, I will be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Can not find it.
